Horseradish Thongs

This set of two is ideal for growing your own horseradish. The roots of this plant have a strong, peppery flavour and are ideal for producing your own horseradish sauce, a traditional complement to roast beef. It grows best as a root and should be planted in the spring or autumn. Plant 30cm deep in compost or organic stuff. Place the root at a 45-degree angle and cover with soil. Harvest in autumn or wait until the first frosts.
