Data Protection and Privacy
Information provided by you online or otherwise will be processed by Whitehall Garden Centre Limited and used to provide you with the ordered products, for billing and accounts purposes, and to keep records of the transaction.
In addition, your information may also be used for the following:
To keep you informed about Whitehall Garden Centre products, promotions and services.
In addition to allowing us to check your creditworthiness and process your orders,the personal data you submit, and our records of your visits to the Site, will be used to monitor and improve our service to you, and for marketing purposes.
We may send you, brochures, leaflets and catalogues displaying our products and services, and may telephone you in order to tell you of promotional offers, to discuss account details or for market research.
We will respect the privacy of your personal data, and will comply with all relevant and current data protection legislation. Without your written consent we will not make
our mailing list available for marketing purposes to anyone outside Whitehall Garden
Centre Limited, unless required to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction, will not disclose your personal data to anyone.
If you wish to update or delete your personal information or if you prefer that we do
not email you to tell you of promotional offers. Please contact Customer Services
After you submit an order we will give you an Order Reference Number and details of the products you have ordered. We will send the same details to you in an e-mail (our first e-mail). We will then send a second email when we start to process your order. Please note that these e-mails are acknowledgements, and are not acceptance of your order.
Acceptance of your order and the creation of a legally binding contract between us will only occur when we send you a third e-mail, which will confirm your order and contain details of how we will deliver your products to you. Alternatively, we may decline all or part of your order for any reason, in which case our third email will tell you so.
We will tell you if your payment details cannot be authorised for any reason and may invite you to pay by another method or suggest that you visit one of our stores. Please note that products, prices and offers in our stores may differ from those featured on this site.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is made at the Internet check out, which can be accessed through your Internet Shopping Trolley. Remember, you can still change your mind at the checkout as to whether you wish to continue with the purchase.
All Prices and charges on this site are in UK pounds. They include any VAT payable, but exclude delivery charges (for details see 'Delivery' below).
We try very hard to ensure that all information on this site is accurate. However, just occasionally, an error can occur. If we discover an error in the price or description of a product you have ordered, we will tell you and ask you whether you wish to continue with your order or cancel it.
When do I give my payment details?
Payment is made at the Order Payment Stage, which can be accessed through your Internet Shopping Trolley. You can still change your mind at this stage. Payment is only made when you click to Complete your purchase.
When will I be charged?
The full purchase price will be charged to your card upon placement of your order.

Is it safe to shop online with Whitehall Garden Centre?
The Whitehall Garden Centre site uses industry standard security methods to ensure that all the personal details you give us are not misused.
Is it safe to use my credit card over the internet?
The purchase area of our site is secure. We utilise industry standard SSL technology (Secure Sockets Layer) to guarantee a safe and secure shopping environment. All sensitive information such as credit card details, names and addresses are encrypted. This means that information passed between your computer and our web site cannot be read even in the event it is intercepted by someone else.
Delivery must be to an address in the Mainland United Kingdom (excluding the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight and the Scottish islands). All deliveries must be signed for (except items sent by post and which are small enough to be put through your letterbox). Please make sure you keep the receipt enclosed with your goods.
Most products are delivered either by courier or by post, depending on their size and value. We will notify you which delivery method we will use when we send you our third e-mail. Very occasionally different products in the same order may be delivered separately.
Delivery of all small items will be made by Royal Mail. (First Class) Royal Mail's vision is to be 'demonstrably the best and most trusted postal services company in the world'. Delivery of items are on a first class next day delivery service. Please note during busy periods this may be a two day delivery with notification of this delay.
Delivery of standard sized goods (Except 2 Man Lift Items) will be made by UKMail. (3 to 5 Day Service and Next Working Day) UKMail offer a nationwide door-to-door sensitive express parcel delivery. UKMail will handle and deliver all parcels as Next Working Day Delivery (ordered by 1pm), please note during busy periods this will be a two day delivery with notification of this delay.

Delivery of your 2 Man Lift Items will be made by Compass Deliver(20 working days). Compass are the market leader in the provision of specialist distribution services. Compass Delveries provide a nationwide service delivering orders by a professional two-man crew at a mutually convenient date and "Call Ahead" service. PLEASE STATE ANY SPECIAL DELIVERY INSRUCTIONS/REQUESTS IN THE COMMENTS SECTION DURING THE CHECKOUT PHASE OF YOUR ORDER.
Collection From Whitehall
Collection from our Lacock Store is now available and FREE! Simply process your order and select "Collection - Lacock Store (Customer Services)" and when you recieve your third email your order will be ready for collection from Customer Services at Whitehall Lacock.
Please allow a minimum of 3 hours for the ordering process and bring your email order confimation with you, which contains your order reference number. PLEASE NOTE: Collection during weekdays only Store Opening Times
Delivery charges are as follows;
£2.99 (Royal Mail) All small low weight products (First Class Delivery).
£4.95 (3 to 5 day Service) All Standard Items - Which do not exceed the weight of 25kg per item.
£8.99 (Next day) All Standard Items - Which do not exceed the weight of 25kg per item.
£24.99 (2 to 20working days) all 2 man lift items
FREE Delivery - Orders over £500.00 which are Two Man Lift Items (Furniture).
For Orders to be delivered “Next Day” they must be processed before 1pm. Orders received after this will be delivered accordingly.
Legal Age for Alcohol/Knifes. You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase wine. By placing your order on our website, on the phone, or in person at our store, you have represented to Whitehall Garden Centre Ltd that you are at least 21. All Alcohol/Knifes delivered must be received by an adult of legal age. We will require a Photographic Identification if you look less than 25 years of age at the point of delivery.
Missing, Damaged or Incorrect Orders
We try very hard to ensure that you receive your order in pristine condition. If you do not receive all your products, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01249 730204 (asking for the web-store Department). In the unlikely event that a product arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us at email@example.com or telephone 01249 730204.
If you have chosen to have your order delivered, you can cancel your purchase at any time either before or up to 7 days after delivery by:
returning the product to one of our stores (please bring your receipt with you and the card you paid with, so that it can be credited);
emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org;
writing to Webstore Department, Whitehall Garden Centre, Lacock, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 2LZ.
Your product must be complete, unused and in 'as new' condition (e.g. if you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product in anyway). It should be returned with the original box, packaging and accessories. Any 'Free Gifts' received with the product must also be returned.
You will receive a full refund, and the cancellation is free of charge provided you return the product to a store, arrange for it to be collected from the delivery company. If you choose another method of return, you must bear the costs.
We cannot cancel your purchase when:
you return your product to a store without proof of purchase;
the goods were a special order to your specification.
Return of Faulty Goods - Delivery Items
If there is a fault with your product within 12 months of delivery (or other defect with your order), we will normally offer a prompt repair, exchange or refund. We will always offer you the choice of an exchange or refund if the fault occurs within 28 days of delivery.
To qualify for a refund or exchange the product must be:-
in otherwise in 'as-new' condition;
complete with any accessories and free gifts offered with it (and, if possible, the original box and packaging).
Please return the product to a Whitehall Garden Centre, Lacock, email email@example.com or phone Whitehall Garden Centre, Lacock on 01249 730204 (9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday &10am to 4.30pm on Sunday). If a fault occurs while you are abroad, please contact us after you return to the UK.
This promise does not cover faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse or normal wear and tear. For consumable items (e.g. Food etc) we cannot accept returns.
THIS RETURNS POLICY DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS
Whitehall Garden Centre reserve the right to change any part of this agreement without notice and your use of the Website will be deemed as acceptance of this agreement. We advise users to regularly check the Terms and Conditions of this agreement.
Whitehall Garden Centre have complete discretion to modify or remove any part of this site without warning or liability arising from such action.
Limitation of Liability
Whitehall Garden Centre will under no circumstance be liable for indirect, special, or consequential damages including any loss of business, revenue, profits, or data in relation to your use of the Website.
Nothing within this Agreement will operate to exclude any liability for death or personal injury arising as result of the negligence of Whitehall Garden Centre it’s employees or agents.
If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck out and the remaining provisions shall remain in force.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement will be governed by the laws of England and any user of the Website hereby agrees to be bound exclusively by the jurisdiction of English courts without reference to rules governing choice of laws.
